Valencia home child care has never been better at Gregory Family Child Care, aka – Mary’s Schoolhouse. So far, it’s been a wonderful summer and the children are enjoying all the summer time activities associated with this time of the year. It’s also a transitional time, as some of our longtime children move on to kindergarten and new younger children quickly fill the ranks. We’re always so proud and excited for the ones moving on, but it’s bittersweet as well. Most of the children have been with us for such a long time, the last days were filled with lots of tears and hugs. Still, we’re all so excited to see them move forward and start their days at kindergarten. We are so appreciative the parents entrusted us to teach and care for their children, but we will truly miss them as they move on. Congratulations to Amani and Annie on moving on to Kindergarten. We will miss you both so very much!
Honestly, one of the reasons our Valencia home child care has never been better, is our fully producing! The garden has turned out better than we hoped and really has been the big hit of the summer. Actually, it’s been nothing short of a “grand slam!” We had our landscaper install the planters and re-worked the irrigation system, but all the teachers and children have participated in planting, tending and growing the garden. Not only that, they are all eating the beautiful and organic vegetables our garden has produced. This has been an amazing way for the children to learn, because they can see and learn for themselves as the seeds turn into plants and the plants produce the bounty. They see the ripe produce move from the garden, direct to the lunch plates and snacks. The children love to pick off a tomato, strawberry or chive and immediately eat it. It’s been a wonderful summer and Valencia home child care has never been better than here at Gregory Family Child Care.
Next up at Gregory Family Child Care – Baby Chicks! We’re got the incubator and picking up the eggs today. We hope the children will be able to see a new chick being hatched and see if we can learn what came first, the chicken or the egg! Stay Tuned…
